The extremely large Scottish Deerhound is a breed of hound that finds its origins in Scotland. Standing nearly 32 inches at the shoulder, with a slender build similar to a greyhound, the Scottish Deerhound was once used to hunt red deer. Its scraggly coat is most often a mix of dark blue and grey, however, it does come in other shades, such as fawn and yellow. This gentle giant gets along well with other dogs, as well as humans.
